Urashimasakatasen is a four-member male vocal unit formed on September 7, 2013, consisting of Uratanuki, Shima, Tonari no Sakata, and Senra. The group originated from utaite and live streamers active on platforms such as Nico Nico Douga and YouTube. The group's name is a portmanteau derived from the members' names, and Uratanuki serves as the leader. They made their major debut in 2016 under JVCKenwood Victor Entertainment with the album Cruise Ticket, later transitioning to NBCUniversal Entertainment Japan. Their 2018 album V-enus topped both the Oricon and Billboard Japan charts, and they subsequently held a sold-out concert at the Nippon Budokan. Their 2019 album $HUFFLE earned a gold disc certification. In addition to music, they produced and voiced the short anime series "Urashimasakatasen no Nichijou" in 2019. The group's official fanbase is called "crew".
