Soliloquies, secret conversations, backbiting, and information about police investigations; Akito could hear it all. A month ago, there was a murder case in Akito's town. As a fan of mystery novels, he was curious to find out more about the case. Then he meets a woman belonging to the same university as him, "Miriya Kujou", and learns a shocking truth. "We are being hunted for our lives." There is a sort of "thief" who can steal a person's abilities by killing them. Miriya's power is her ability to "sense" the presence of such abilities.
