April, 2003. The Human Genome Project—DNA—was fully sequenced. Universities and corporations worldwide contributed. Even Tenkai City, where this story unfolds, had its player: Sanjo Genomics. Years passed. DNA research faded from mainstream science. But Sanjo kept at it. Then— Sometime, somewhere— "Sanjo Genomics deciphers non-coding DNA regions." The breakthrough gave most people an ability. Precognition. The world cheered. Sanjo became legendary. But hype dies. Only one fact remained: nearly all humans could now see the future. Almost all. Not her. Sanjo Mikoto—heiress to the empire— Couldn’t manifest the gift. ...The have-not among haves. So— They denied her. Looked down on her. Branded her. Crushed from within. Crushed from without.
